PT: A Faculdade de Direito da Universidade de Lisboa e a Representação da Comissão Europeia em Portugal promovem, no próximo dia 23 de abril, uma conversa aberta entre Estudantes Universitários e o Comissário Europeu Michael McGrath.
O Comissário Michael McGrath é responsável pelas áreas da Democracia, do Estado de Direito, da Justiça e da Proteção dos Consumidores. Atua em matérias essenciais como a defesa dos direitos fundamentais, a integridade dos processos eleitorais e o combate à desinformação. No domínio da Justiça, destaca-se a sua atuação na harmonização jurídica europeia, na proteção dos consumidores, na justiça digital e na cooperação judiciária europeia.
Será uma oportunidade para conhecer de forma prática o que é ser um Comissário Europeu, colocar questões, partilhar perspetivas e contribuir ativamente para o debate europeu, trazendo a visão da geração que, no futuro, assumirá responsabilidades nestas áreas fundamentais da União Europeia.

Commissioner Michael McGrath is responsible for Democracy, the Rule of Law, Justice, and Consumer Protection. He works in key areas such as protecting fundamental rights, ensuring the integrity of electoral processes, and combating disinformation. In the field of Justice, his work also includes European legal harmonization, consumer protection, digital justice, and European judicial cooperation.
This will be an opportunity to gain practical insight into what it means to be a European Commissioner, ask questions, share perspectives, and actively contribute to the European debate—bringing the voice of the generation that will, in the future, take on responsibilities in these fundamental areas of the European Union.
