O primeiro dos eventos incluídos no programa do Módulo – a Conferência “Direitos Fundamentais e Estado de Direito enquanto valores europeus após a Conferência sobre o Futuro da União Europeia” – realizou-se na Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa no dia 28 de Março de 2023.

A Conferência, sob a coordenação das Professoras Doutoras Ana Isabel Soares Pinto (FDUL) e Teresa Nunes (FLUL), abordou um conjunto alargado de temas sobre o presente e o futuro dos direitos fundamentais e do Estado de direito enquanto valores da União Europeia, agrupados em quatro painéis, na dupla ótica dos estudos jurídicos e dos estudos europeus e humanísticos:

– Cultura Europeia e valores da União em crise: que futuro?

– Direitos Fundamentais e Estado de Direito enquanto valores da União: significado e instrumentos de proteção

– Direitos Fundamentais e Estado de Direito enquanto valores da União: os instrumentos de resposta às crises

– Direitos Fundamentais e Estado de Direito após a Conferência sobre o Futuro da União Europeia: propostas, follow-up e desafios

As intervenções dos oradores, promovendo um diálogo entre o direito e outros campos de conhecimento, serão objeto de publicação em formato digital (e-book) que será disponibilizado para consulta no separador “Publicações”.

O programa do Módulo inclui ainda mais três eventos (conferências), alguns em colaboração com entes públicos, a realizar entre 2023 e 2024, sobre as seguintes temáticas:

– Direitos Fundamentais e Estado de Direito enquanto valores europeus na litigância interna e internacional

– Direitos Fundamentais e Estado de Direito enquanto europeus nas (re)nova(da)s políticas da União Europeia.

The first event in the module’s programme – the conference “Fundamental Rights and the Rule of Law as European Values after the Conference on the Future of the European Union” – took place on 28 March at the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lisbon.

The conference, coordinated by Professors Ana Isabel Soares Pinto (FDUL) and Teresa Nunes (FLUL), covered a wide range of topics on the present and future of fundamental rights and the rule of law as values of the European Union, grouped into four panels from the dual perspective of legal studies and European and humanistic studies:

– European culture and the values of the Union in crisis: what future?

– Fundamental rights and the rule of law as values of the EU: meaning and instruments of protection

– Fundamental rights and the rule of law as values of the EU: Instruments of crisis response

– Fundamental rights and the rule of law after the Conference on the future of the European Union: proposals, follow-up and challenges

The speakers’ contributions, which promote the dialogue between law and other fields of knowledge, will be published in digital form (e-book) and will be available under the “Publications” tab.

– Fundamental rights and the rule of law as European values in national and international litigation
