Research

The School promotes a new paradigm of legal research in Portugal, guided by excellence, ethics, modernisation and accessibility criteria, and oriented not only towards the local community, but also to the international scientific community. The number of new researchers has been increasing, especially in 2013, when the research centres were created (see chart). The excellence of the scientific production has been nationally and internationally acknowledged and the University of Lisbon is at the top of “scientific output of excellence with leadership” among legal research carried out in Portugal, according to data from SCImago. Contract research is also one of the great achievements of the research work conducted at the School (see chart 2).
