WHAT IT CONSISTS OF
The New Master’s Study Cycle in Law and Legal Science aims to deepen legal science, consolidate specialised knowledge and the capacity for creation and innovation.
The Cycle of Studies consists of a Specialisation Course and the Master’s Dissertation preparation phase, each lasting one academic year, with a total of 120 credits (ECTS).
CONTENTS
The Specialisation Course involves attending 3 annual courses, chosen from a wide and innovative range, and Introduction to Scientific Research Methodology (semester).
The sessions of the Master’s in Law and Legal Science are seminar-based and the number of Master’s students per class is reduced.
The seminars are supervised by professors of recognised merit from the Faculty of Law, one of the largest in the Portuguese-speaking world. They can also be given by experts in the field, at the invitation of the professors.
The assessment of master’s students is essentially based on oral presentations and written reports.
In the second phase, the master’s student prepares and presents an original dissertation, under the supervision of a Doctor of Laws.
WHO IT IS AIMED AT
Law graduates with an average mark of 14 or above, or equivalent (0-20 scale), who wish to develop research in the science of law and develop their capacity for research and autonomous work.
Holders of other degrees, outside the area of Law, provided they demonstrate adequate scientific preparation and the Master’s programme they are applying for is related to their basic training.
