Study Plan

The Cycle of Studies leading to a master’s degree in ELPIS corresponds to 120 credits and a normal duration of four curricular semesters:

a. A plan of curricular units, organised into three semesters, corresponding to 30 ECTS each.
b. A scientific dissertation, corresponding to 30 credits.

Students must complete the first academic semester at FDUL and two academic semesters at at least one of the consortium institutions, as shown in the table below:

The fourth semester must be taken at FDUL.

It is up to the student to build their study plan, according to the curricular offer of at least two of the consortium institutions, in one of three scientific areas of choice:

a. Legal Sciences;
b. Legal and Political Sciences;
c. Legal-Economic Sciences.

At the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon, students must complete at least the following curricular units:

a. Introduction to Scientific Research Methodology I or II;
b. Four curricular units offered in the Master’s in Law and Legal Practice.

The student may also undertake an internship that complements the study plan, but does not replace the completion of the dissertation.
